Lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium
Works primarily with analog photography and slow, physical processes. Her practice focuses on the in-between state where body, nature and the inner world merge. Not to depict fixed identities, but to create images that move through transitional zones: moments of becoming, dissolving and shifting presence.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Analog photography forms the foundation of my practice. The slow, tactile process creates a kind of stillness in which I can look more deeply and allow an image to unfold rather than capture it. Through printing, montage, re-photographing, layering by hand or selective working with digital means the image changes step by step. By covering and revealing, it shifts from documentation to transformation.
This way of working aligns with my way of perceiving. I rely strongly on intuitive perception: a form of seeing that does not begin with analysis but with sensing and resonance. It makes me attentive to tensions between instinct and control, visibility and concealment, adaptation and resistance. These movements unfold beneath the surface, yet shape the core of an experience.
I do not regard my photographs as fixed statements, but as visual thresholds. They trace the moment when something is no longer what it was, and not yet what it will become. In that in-between state, a different form of presence appears. Photography gives me structure; transformation is my language.
SERIES - REMEMBER WHO YOU ONCE WERE
“Bone by bone, hair by hair, Wild Woman comes back. Through night dreams, through events half understood and half remembered...” — Clarissa Pinkola Estés
It is not a return to the past. It is the moment in which the forgotten becomes visible, and the self finds a new way to exist.
SERIES - NOT SHAMELESS
Vulnerability stands close to protection. What once felt like a shield begins to fall away until only a bare, radical presence remains.
Not shameless, but a state where truth and light enter through fragile openings. Skin becomes a threshold to the world: thin, porous, quietly resilient.
In the tension between separation and belonging, a new form of existence begins to appear.
Seeking the essence,
Light in darkness reveals truth, True self, so pristine.
The work includes a stop-motion composed of 18 unique frames, printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag. Each print is individually hand-finished with soft pastels, making every piece one-of-a-kind.
