Born in Tehran in 1982, Morvarid K is a visual artist and performer, living and working in Bordeaux and Berlin. Through the manipulation of photographic print and organic matter, Morvarid K questions our relationship to time, transformative memory and the in-between. The matter anchors her work in reality, while transformative techniques bring additional complexity and depth, often through performative executions. Morvarid K’s work is in renowned collections such as MacVal museum, BnF, CNAP, FRAC Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Louis Roederer Foundation. To further elaborate on her work, Morvarid K appropriates the meaning Laurent Derobert (existentialist mathematician) gives to the word “lack”.
