Lisen Stibeck

Lisen Stibeck is a Swedish photographic artist whose work explores female identity, transformation and the relationship between the human body and its surroundings. Working intuitively with light, landscape, gesture and the body, she moves between observation and constructed reality. By bringing together fragments from different places and moments, Stibeck creates her own landscapes — spaces where reality, memory and imagination merge. From ‘Daughters’, exploring the transition from adolescence into adulthood, to her more recent ‘A Quiet Distance’, the changing nature of identity remains central to her practice.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at Fotografiska Stockholm, Dimbola Museum and Galleries, the National Museum of Iceland and Centro Fotográfico Manuel Álvarez Bravo in Oaxaca, Mexico, Gallery of Modern Art Poland.
